‘Eccentric Growth’ is painted on non-traditional paper, in this case old red paper made in Japan. I work in a quick, intuitive way; the final pieces which have evolved inhabit a space on the edge of language/reason. All the works I make appear to be shape-shifting or morphing. Maybe part human, part beast - the final evolution is unresolved. They all involve a struggle, a tension in the transformation.
